'Tis the Season: Join Us for VisionTV's 4 Weeks of Christmas

‘Tis the season to spend time with loved ones, eat until your belt breaks, pass out gifts and, of course, comfortably slide back in the recliner and enjoy some exceptional holiday programming from ‘The Nation’s Christmas Station,’ VisionTV.

Running through the holiday season, VisionTV’s 4 Weeks of Christmas event features the best shows, specials, films, concerts and British entertainment designed to bring cheer to you and yours.

This year, we catch up with world famous chef Rick Stein, as he returns to the county of Cornwall for “Rick Stein’s Cornish Christmas.” Here, Stein shares his favourite dishes and traditions from the region, while showcasing a heavy pinch of wit and charm. Further bringing us into the British lifestyle is “Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas,” a holiday special in which we get to witness epic cake design, tree decorating and sweater knitting competitions.

Of course, we can’t speak about wonderful British programming without mentioning the hit comedy, “Miranda.” In addition to airing the seasonal favourite “Miranda’s Perfect Christmas,” VisionTV will also fill your stocking with a new pair of “Miranda” specials (that take her story beyond the first three seasons of the series), each of which focus on Miranda’s up and down relationship with Gary. For hilarity, heartbreak, then much more hilarity, tune into “Miranda.”

For the foodies out there, we are thrilled to bring you the inaugural “Organic Panic” Christmas special. In this episode, a family is taught how to prepare an organic and conventional Christmas dinner. Which dinner will the family approve of the most? You’ll have to watch to find out. If sipping merrily through the holidays is more your speed, be sure to give “Twelve Drinks of Christmas” a watch.

Making its network premiere is “The National Tree” (Andrew McCarthy, Evan Williams) a film in which an at odds father and son duo need to transport a giant Sitka Spruce across America so that it has a shot at becoming the next Washington National Tree. Also featured on our packed movie schedule are favourites like “Secret Santa” (Jennie Garth), “November Christmas” (John Corbett, Sam Elliott) and “Recipe for a Perfect Christmas” (Carly Pope, Christine Baranski.)

On a musical note, VisionTV will be airing its homegrown special, “The Carols of Christmas: St. Michael’s Choir,” which will include live performances from La Jeunesse Youth Orchestra, Voices of Victory Youth Choir and many more.

Additionally, we’ll be premiering a pair of new Mormon Tabernacle Choir specials – “Christmas Favourties” with Deborah Voigt, as well as “Reflections of a New Year.” As for old MTC favourites, don’t worry, we have some of those as well.
